Extension and Expansion of Federal Programs
We advocate for the continuation and enhancement of federal programs like the Market Access Program (MAP) and Agricultural Trade Promotion (ATP).These programs help exporters, including GEMCO, recoup marketing costs and reinvest in the U.S. economy, safeguarding American jobs. They help American companies survive stiff challenges due to tariffs, high customs costs, and price controls in certain markets.
Addressing Disadvantages in Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
Current FTA’s place American exporters, including ATEC members, at a disadvantage. We urge the establishment of new and effective FTA’s that level the playing field for American exporters, allowing fair competition.
